Glynne Primary School is a two form entry community school with approximately 480 children including a maintained nursery. Our school motto is 'Aiming High' and we aim to achieve high standards by providing the very best education that we can. We offer a creative curriculum and place great value on art, music and PE as well as academic achievement. The social, moral, cultural and spiritual aspects of our curriculum are equally important and we are a 'Rights Respecting School' teaching the children about the UN Convention of Children's Rights.

The Governors, staff and children are looking for a new member of staff to join the site team. We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and flexible person who will help ensure that our school is safe, secure and well maintained.

Grade 5, point 7 to 11 (£20,092 - £21,749)

Candidates should be competent in basic building repairs and maintenance, decoration and grounds maintenance and must take a pride in their work. They should have a working knowledge of health and safety and should be able to work individually and as part of a team. Good interpersonal skills are required with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents and any contractors working on site.

The working hours in term time are on a split shift basis (usually 6:00am - 10:00 am and 2.30 pm - 6.00 pm).  This is flexible depending upon the needs of the school and may differ in the school holiday period.

Occasions may arise, especially in severe weather, when an earlier start time may be needed or where as key holder, the site manager is required to attend site at times outside the regular pattern and so it is preferable that the site manager lives within easy travel distance of the school. In addition the school is committed to working with the community so there will be lettings where overtime will be paid, based on the hourly rate of the Site Manager salary.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed. There are planned walk-rounds on 22nd and 23rd November 2021, both at 1.30pm. Please telephone the school office on 01384 816960 to register your interest.

Closing date for applications: Sunday, 28th November 2021

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure check.  The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

NB: We reserve the right to close vacancies before the advertised date if a large number of applications have been received.
