Job Details
This is an exciting opportunity to join Warwickshire’s Refugee Resettlement Team. We are a small but established countywide team, contributing to the resettlement of Refugees / Migrants within Warwickshire. We have managed the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement scheme over the last 5 years, and more recently, have responded to the recent Humanitarian crisis by supporting Afghan families to settle into permanent accommodation and additionally providing wrap around support to Afghan evacuees. We are a dynamic team, which offers a high standard of service within a highly supportive environment and recently won “Team of the Year 2021”.
Here at Warwickshire County Council, we put children and families at the forefront. We are passionate about supporting communities and families to build on their strengths and relationships and find their own solutions. We work with children and families to build strong connections, and help families find long-lasting solutions. Our work contributes to our wider County Council aim – to make Warwickshire the best it can be for everyone.
If you have a genuine interest in humanitarian issues and would like to be part of a team making a difference to the lives of Refugees / Migrants, we want to hear from you as you could be the person we are looking for to join our innovative, supportive and high performing team.
The role:
Learning English is crucial to enabling refugees to integrate successfully in to their new lives in the UK. You will deliver and co-ordinate ESOL provision for refugee families arriving to resettle in Warwickshire. You will be responsible for ensuring that all individuals have access to ESOL classes and make measurable progress in English.
You will need to develop provision in innovative and creative ways in order to meet the needs of learners who are settled across a wide geographical area, have different educational backgrounds and different levels of English.
This role combines ESOL class delivery and ESOL programme development and coordination, we expect the split to be approximately 60/40 (ESOL class delivery to co-ordination and development) but this is open to review as the role develops.
