Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Band 6-11, £12,538-£13,841
Permanent part-time post: 27.5 hours per week pro rata (Term-time only)

Elmore Green Primary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning of pupils with additional needs.

You will need to be able to:

• Demonstrate good English, Maths and IT skills;
• Work well under your own initiative as well as part of a team;
• Have a proven track record of successful primary classroom practice;
• Have experience of working with pupils with additional needs.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly competent person who is passionate about working with children of all abilities.  We currently have over 50 pupils on our Special Educational Needs register, 10 of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan. We are looking to appoint a dedicated teaching assistant who has experience of working with pupils with complex additional needs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of supporting SEND pupils to achieve their full potential and have experience of working with children with ASD within a primary setting. They should also be able to demonstrate effective ways of working with pupils to raise their attainment and be able to motivate and enthuse pupils to learn. 

In addition, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate they;

• Can support the social, emotional mental health needs of our pupils.
• Are flexible in their approach to the needs of our pupils and be ready to change their practice readily to engage them.
• Have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to the challenges of every school day.

• Have a secure knowledge of a range of special educational needs
• Are experienced in working with SEND children including those with ASD.
• Have the confidence, determination and resilience to thrive in an environment that supports continuous school improvement;
• Have the ability to create and support effective teamwork;
• Possess the personal skills needed to be able to communicate effectively within the school and with a range of external professionals, parents and governors.
• Are passionate about inclusion and the learning and development of every child.
