As part of the Transformation of Mental Health Social Care in Worcestershire we have several Social Worker roles across both South and North Worcestershire.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a proven track record of strengths and assets-based statutory social work in line with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act; undertaking duties expected of social workers in line with their Professional Capabilities Framework. The successful candidates will be providing social interventions that promote recovery and will be working collaboratively with Herefordshire & Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, who provide specialist mental health services across the County.

In Worcestershire we use the Three Conversations approach; a model that focuses on people's strengths, own assets, and those within their community. The successful candidates will demonstrate a highly competent level of skill in assessment, support planning, intervention, and evaluation. Applicants will need to be Social Work England registered and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the relevant legislation. Experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries is essential, alongside experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions.

We offer the opportunity for progression, excellent training including a thorough induction linked to your role, and professional development plans. You will receive supervision alongside weekly team reflective meetings and be working in a team of motivated, dedicated, and friendly colleagues. In Worcestershire we provide flexible and mobile working, with supporting technology, enabling you to work from a range of office bases, touch points and home.

In addition to the above, support will also be provided through The Social Work Academy (SWA) who work closely with the Principal Social Workers across both Directorates to ensure that learning is continuous and supports practice improvement. The SWA is responsible for learning programmes for Social Worker and Management development, together with Student placements and Practice Education.

***We are currently only considering applicants who have already completed their ASYE***

You can apply online or by sending a copy of your up-to-date CV and an expression of interest detailing your skills, abilities, experience and achievements to date that make you a suitable candidate to socialworkopps@worcestershire.gov.uk

Please consider your written application in the context of the Job Profile attached to this advert

Additionally, please clearly state on your application whether your preference is to work in the North/South of the County.

Interviews are provisionally arranged for Thursday 16th and Friday 17th December.
