We are looking for an engaging team player who has a keen eye for detail and the drive to provide an excellent customer service to the residents of Worcester. The role would be ideal for a skilled administrator with an interest in the democratic process and local government.

You will support the Electoral Services Team across all aspects of the service, including resolving customer enquiries, maintaining the electoral register and the organisation and delivery of all elections and referenda in Worcester.

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent standard
  • 3 GCSEs Grade A-C or equivalent including Maths and English
  • Experience using specialist database software
  • Good written and oral communication skills and commitment to providing an excellent customer service.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy and with particular attention to detail.
  • Proficient IT user with good Microsoft Office skills and aptitude to learn new software packages.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Resilient and able to deal with competing priorities, deadlines & interruptions whilst maintaining a high-level of accuracy.
  • Strong integrity and ensuring confidentiality for the service.
  • Work well in a small team with a “can do” attitude.

Electoral Services team members are occasionally required to work outside the normal business hours. This will include evening working and extended working days at times of high workload, specifically leading up to an election.

The role is 15 hours per week.  Working days and times to be agreed upon appointment and requires flexibility depending on business need.  Core hours are 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday.
