Castle Bromwich Infant & Nursery School offers a positive working environment in a supportive friendly school, which prides itself on the quality of its work.

We are looking to appoint a Child Specific Teaching Assistant to complement our team.

The initial contract is fixed term until 31.8.2022, part time, 15 hours per week (8:45am-11:45am), term time only starting in January 2022.

You will be required to work one-to-one with children identified with special educational needs and general support work in classes.

You would potentially be required to work with an individual student both in the classroom and during breaks and lunchtimes to assist with safety, behaviour and motivation, assisting the student with the development of social skills as well as the work in the classroom.  General class support would involve working with a number of identified pupils under the direction of the class teacher.

In order to be successful for this position we are looking for candidates with previous experience of working with young people with behavioural and/or learning difficulties or someone with an NVQ qualification.  Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not necessary.

Castle Bromwich Infant & Nursery School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We undertake clear procedures to ensure that all staff appointed to the school are suitable to work with young people.  An enhanced DBS will be required.
