James Brindley Academy is looking for a tenacious Health Care Assistant who has experience working with children, young people and families and is willing to develop and learn.
At James Brindley, we provide education for children and young people whilst they are in hospital or are unable to attend their mainstream school due to medical conditions or special educational needs. We teach across 11 sites including teaching centres and hospitals in Birmingham.
The purpose of the role is to work with parents, carers, specialist health professionals and others to develop, implement and monitor in-school care plans for young people with complex health needs and long-term conditions to enable them to attend and benefit from school. You will work in co-operation with other keyworkers involved in supporting the young people’s educational and health care needs under the guidance of the Centre Leader.
You will have high standard of clinical work as well as knowledge of assessment of health needs of the school aged population. QCF/NVQ in Health and Social Care at L3 along with GCSE English and maths (or equivalent) are also essential.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
