We are recruiting for a full-time Social Care Assistant to work in the Family Solutions Team.
Family Solutions Team is an Edge of Care team working across all services to promote stability for children wherever they are living. This includes children subject to assessment, CIN an CP plans, SGO and adoption, and children who are cared for by the Trust via Foster and Residential care arrangements. The Team also responds to crisis situations where relationships have broken down and a child may be on the edge of care arrangement disruption. The Team responds within 24 hours to these requests.
The Team uses systemic and solution focussed interventions with families and works in collaboration with families and professionals to promote stability and prevent escalation.
Applicants will need to be flexible in their approach to working with families with some experience and knowledge of direct work with young people and families in crisis.
The Applicant will support the team’s Social Workers in undertaking their work with Families and may involve some case holding with the support of the Social worker and Team Manager.
You will need to have: -
• NVQ Level 3 or evidence of previous similar study
• Experience of direct work with children
• Knowledge of child development and children who have experienced trauma, separation and loss.
• Excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone
• Good IT skills
• Good team player, self-motivating, reflective and able to use own initiative
• Able to run support groups and training.
