 32.5 hours working Monday 8.45 – 4.20, Tues – Fri 8.45 – 3.30

Abbey Hill School & College is a successful and over-subscribed school meeting the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties, communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions.  Our governors are seeking to employ an experienced and highly professional qualified individual to work in our Primary department alongside a dedicated and supportive team who are committed to ensuring the best outcomes for our students.

Job Purpose

  • To work with teachers as part of a professional team to organise and support teaching and learning activities for SEN pupils, including classes.
  • The primary focus is to work with individuals and groups delivering specified work under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.
  • To plan, organise and undertake other related duties to fully support and underpin learning, personal and social development.

You must:

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents / carers.
  • Be computer literate, organised and have a good general standard of education at Level 2 or above, including English and Maths as well as meeting the professional standards for HLTAs
  • Have experience of supporting pupils’ learning in a school environment
  • Have strong behavioural management skills
