We have vacancies at Charles House- West Heath, Edgewood Road  - Hawksley, Warwick House – Acocks Green and Camborne House  - Aston; working 36.5 hours per week (part time or job share also considered). You may sometimes be asked to work across any of our homes.

We have an excellent residential provision that offers long term and short breaks to disabled children and their families. As part of Birmingham Childrens Trust the residential service benefit from then partnerships across the trust and work with Social Care Services Education and Health to provide wholistic services and the best package of care to children.

Birmingham Children’s Trust are looking for enthusiastic and committed members of staff to provide support and care to young people with disabilities who are living at the home or receiving short breaks.  You will support children with their daily lives including activities, personal development and personal care.

We are looking for people who can engage with disabled children and are passionate about getting the best outcomes for children and their families. The Residential provision is a 24hr service, applicants for these roles will be expected to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

For this role we are looking for someone who has relevant experience of working with children including disabled children. You will need to hold the QCF level 3 in children and young people or equivalent or be willing to undertake the qualification within 6 months of starting the role.

You will be expected to undertake a range of training, including training in communication with non- verbal children and some health care training. Specialist nurse trainers will enable you to be competent in this area. You will also be expected to undertake a high level of personal care.

All the residential provisions are Ofsted registered and operate within the legal framework of The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and The Quality Standards. The roles are subject to satisfactory DBS check, references and a 6 month probationary period. The homes are managed by a Home Manager who is registered with Ofsted and are overseen by the Responsible Individual

Working as part of a team, you will be accountable for the quality of day-to-day care; administration and organisation of the Children’s Home.  You will assist in formulating Assessments, Placement Plans, Care Plans and Pathway Plans (where applicable) for each child or young person and formulate clear aims and objectives for each child/young person as necessary.
