Benefits to you:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata (rising to 30 days with 5 years of local government service)
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Support for training and professional development
  • Subsidised leisure facilities and employee discounts in local stores
  • Free confidential employee assistance programme, available 24 hours a day

As Museums Marketing Officer you will create and implement exciting marketing campaigns to promote Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum, The Commandery in Worcester, and The County Museum at Hartlebury Castle to new and existing audiences to raise awareness, increase visitor numbers and income. You will be responsible for devising engaging content for our website and digital channels and will provide digital support for our commercial activity.

This is an exciting opportunity to utilise and improve your all-round marketing skills, working within a small but dedicated Audiences team.

This role is full-time 37 hours per week

We are looking for a proactive and motivated marketer to grow our museum audiences. You will have experience of delivering marketing campaigns within the heritage, culture or visitor attraction sector. You will have a positive, audience-focussed approach and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. You will be well-versed in marketing systems including CRM and ticketing.

Ideally you will have or be working towards a CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) qualification. You will have experience of implementing effective marketing campaigns, and of coordinating and producing print from copywriting and design commission to finished proofs with an excellent eye for detail. You will know how to engage audiences through digital marketing campaigns and have experience in maintaining engaging websites.

You will have great ideas on how to sell the museums, events and exhibitions to new audiences and be willing to share your enthusiasm for heritage and history to encourage others to participate.

This role requires you to work occasional weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays, as well as providing out-of-hours support in an emergency.

You will be based at The Commandery (Worcester) and regularly visiting Hartlebury Castle (near Kidderminster) and Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum and may need to move between sites at short notice, therefore being a car owner and holding a driving licence is an advantage although not essential.

For more information, please contact Helen Large, Museums Audiences Manager, Museums Worcestershire, email Helen.Large@worcester.gov.uk

Applications for the role close on Sunday 9th January. The interviews will take place on Tuesday 18th January at The Commandery, Worcester.
