Job Details

Required early January 2022

The Governors of All Souls’ Catholic Primary School seek to employ a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant.

All Souls’ Catholic Primary School is a popular and successful Primary school located in the Chapelfields area of Coventry. We are proud of our well behaved and hardworking children and are fortunate to have supportive families, staff and Governors.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for an Early Years child who can support them with the development of their communication and social skills as well as supporting them in their learning journey.

You should have a working knowledge of strategies to support children with a range of additional needs. We require someone who is committed to inclusion and is prepared to encourage independence where appropriate as the child develops.

The Catholic faith is embedded in all we do so you must be prepared to embrace the ethos of the school and there will be the expectation to support the child in church as part of our RE curriculum.

Your regular working hours will be 8:30am to 1pm, Monday to Friday, however, the child is currently building up to being in school full time so we require someone who is able to work additional afternoon hours (paid as overtime) to mirror the hours the child will be in school. You must be committed to working additional hours as whenever the child is on site, they will require your 1:1 support.

This is a Grade 3 term time only role (£18,933 - £20,092 pro rata) plus 5 teacher training days. It is a fixed term post until the end of July 2022 in the first instance with the possibility of being made permanent subject to the needs of the school.

Closing date: Monday 6th December 2021 at 12 noon

Interviews: Friday 10th December 2021

In order to apply, please contact the School Business Manager – Linsey Rae – linsey.rae@allsoulsschool.co.uk /  02476 675836 to request an application pack.

A visit to the school is highly recommended.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
