Planning Officer /Senior Planning Officer (Career graded post)

£25481- £35745 (pro-rata)

We have 2 openings to join the Development Management team in the post of Planning Officer/ Senior Planning Officer, one full time & one part time.  We would therefore consider applications on a full time and part time basis. Part time role is 24 hours per week.

The Council has a significant growth agenda and a strong emphasis on quality design, and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly team to contribute towards this. 

You will ideally be a qualified planner (MRTPI) or working towards this, with post qualification experience in development management, including within a Local Planning Authority. You should have a good knowledge of the planning system and excellent organisational and time management skills.  You will be a good team player, with the ability to negotiate on complex schemes and have good written and verbal communication skills. An appreciation and understanding of urban design principles would also be very useful in this role.

These roles are career graded, allowing you to move through the grades as your competency and experience develops (please see attached Job Description & Person Specification which explains the competency bars), and your work will include dealing with minor and major applications with an emphasis on contributing towards the Council’s committed development team approach and high quality service.
