Job Details

The Governors of Langley Primary wish to appoint a Band D Learning Support Practitioner to work 5 days a week (27.5hrs).

Initially the post will be in Reception. With the new EYFS curriculum this is an exciting point as our provision is being reviewed and adapted to meet the new curriculum and you would have a role to play in this. You will need to have a good knowledge of the teaching of phonics.

You will need to be flexible as to which part of the school you work in over time and should feel at home working from Y1 and Y6. Staff are regularly moved within school and you should be willing to work throughout the school.

You will need to be able to work flexibly, take responsibility for the teaching and learning of small groups and be able to think on your feet to meet the needs of the children you work with. Where you show that you can achieve these expectations you will be given greater independence in working with the children. We are an inclusive school and expect staff to adapt how they work to the pupils’ needs rather than expecting the children simply to conform.

Passion, skill and enthusiasm are more important than experience. Where these are evident we can provide support and training for a suitable applicant.

Over the past years where staff have a degree and shown sufficient promise we have been able to take several staff through the Schools Direct route into becoming a qualified teacher.

To apply, please download an application form and return to andrea.joyce@langleyprimary.com
