The day-to-day duties

To deal with day-to-day general telephone and personal enquiries ensuring clients and members of the public receive a polite, prompt and professional service. The successful candidate will use a comprehensive database to enter all client information and service intervention details and to produce reports using Microsoft Excel, Access and other database systems, including Outcome Star software. Other duties will include typing letters, reports and general documents using Microsoft Word, including minutes of meetings when and where required. The Administrator will assist the Health and Social Care Manager and wider Community Offer team in tasks such as booking meetings, preparing and collation of monitoring information required by the Service funder and will assist in the purchasing of goods/services completing appropriate forms and maintaining a PO record, including checking invoices against activity.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Experience of working with computers in Windows environment i.e. word processing, databases
  • Experience of speaking to members of the public on the telephone and dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Experience of working with members of the public in a health and social environment
  • Must demonstrate the ability of organisational and time management skills, to prioritise workload and work on own initiative
  • Ability to maintain accurate recording systems
  • Must have good communication skills using different equipment i.e. telephone, IT equipment etc.
