Teaching Assistants Level 1

The Role

32.5 Hours per Week

Weddington Primary School is looking to recruit two 1-1 Teaching Assistants to join our fabulous team and contribute towards delivering an inspirational education for our children. One of the roles will be, initially, for two terms only, starting from 4th January 2022 with a view to this being extended for the right candidate. The second role is to cover a maternity leave in a Reception class from 24th January until the end of the academic year.

We are looking for resourceful, compassionate and caring practitioners who can work 1:1 with children with additional needs and/or challenging behaviour. The role requires a starting time of 8.30am, for meet and greet, and a finish at 3.30pm for a calm ‘end of day’ routine. You will also be required to work half an hour of the lunch hour to continue the support for these pupils.

Key Requirements

The successful applicants should be kind, passionate about their role and be good communicators. They will need to have excellent behaviour management strategies and be able to show resilience and perseverance with hard to reach pupils.

Experience/training in any of the following areas would be an advantage but is not essential: ASD, dysphasia, speech and language and leading interventions
