We are seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer, on a permanent basis to work alongside a team of experienced Procurement and Contract Management specialists.

You will act as a key delivery agent for provision of effective and efficient specialist procurement advice, project management and lead the delivery of compliant complex procurement processes. Through the provision of sound advice and delivery of innovative procurement solutions you will enable the Council to reduce waste, maximise efficiency, and achieve best value in procurement ensuring compliance with Legislation, the Public Contracts Regulations, procurement policies and procedures.

Key Requirements:
- Significant experience of independently leading and delivering complex major procurement projects, in partnership with key stakeholders, in accordance with Legislation and Public Contracts Regulations.
- Knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations, procurement best practice, social value, localism, sustainability in procurement and contracts, governance and risk management of projects.
- Experience of delivering category related procurement strategies and deploying procurement best practice to reduce waste, improve effectiveness and generate efficiency.
- Experience of successfully negotiating on major procurement projects and contracts.
- Experience of producing and delivering procurement work plans and projects, on time, in a complex and challenging environment.
- Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience and CIPS Level 4 Diploma (Industry Specific Qualification) or commitment to working towards.
