Senior Public Health Commissioner
£43,857 - £46,845 per annum

37 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced public health professional to join Telford & Wrekin Council and lead the Public Health Commissioning Team. The post holder will be responsible for the strategic planning, commissioning, policy development, and performance monitoring of public health clinical and treatment services, in collaboration with the NHS to improve the health of the population and reduce inequalities across the following portfolio of services:
- Substance misuse treatment and recovery services – through the new treatment system (including tier 1-4 services) alongside local recovery and support organisations
- Sexual health services – contraception and advice, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, through clinical NHS providers, GPs, and pharmacies
- Universal child health services (0-19 year olds) – health visiting and school nursing
- Domestic abuse services and support
- NHS Health Check – vascular risk screening programme
The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading commissioning processes across a range of public health clinical and treatment programmes and experience of staff and team management.
The Council is currently operating a hybrid model of home and office working which offers staff and teams flexibility.
