Information Governance Officer – Data Protection

 

£24,491 - £27,041 per annum

The Information Governance Team provide an essential and regulatory role with responsibility for Data Protection, ensuring ongoing compliance with the GDPR, Freedom of Information, management of the Authority’s complaint process as well as supporting the wider ICT service ensuring continued security of our information assets.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to manage their workload in an organised and efficient manner to meet regulatory and internal deadlines. You will have a positive attitude and be able to work using your own initiative as well contributing to the Information Governance Team and wider ICT service.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience and knowledge in Data Protection legislation, Information Security and Freedom of Information, ideally with relevant accreditations or be willing to undertake training to achieve the associated industry recognised accreditations. You will be a confident ICT user, particularly with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of software.

This is a challenging role involving knowledge of specific legislation where accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills are key attributes required of the successful candidate. In return you will have a varied and interesting role for the right candidate and the opportunity to achieve accredited practitioner in the disciplines associated with the position.
