We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to join our hard working and committed team as soon as possible.  The vacancy is in our Key Stage 4 class where our learners have moderate to severe learning difficulties and are studying ASDAN/Entry level, functional skills qualifications, in addition to working on a functional curriculum.  Experience of working within a special school, catering for pupils with cognition and learning needs is essential alongside having experience teaching the full range of curriculum subjects at a primary level.  This should include supporting pupils with communication difficulties, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities and behavioural needs. It would be desirable for candidates to have a knowledge of appropriate qualifications for students with additional needs, including work experience, travel training and Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.  Candidates must also have a willingness to further their own professional development by attending relevant courses and implementing new initiatives.

Kemball School is a day special school for pupils aged between 3 and 19 years of age with cognitive and learning difficulties (PMLD, SLD & MLD some of whom have complex medical/physical needs). The school has a happy atmosphere and is welcoming and friendly.  The current number on roll is 222
