We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals who enjoy working with people and want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable adults & children, people with learning difficulties and/or a disability.

We are offering a great opportunity to assist service users of all ages with special needs/ learning or mobility difficulties to access local day centres or schools throughout the borough on Solihull Council’s Transport Fleet.

As a Vehicle Passenger Escort you need to have a good understanding of the support required by vulnerable adults & children, people with learning and/or physical disabilities and also be able to do the following:

  • Be able to demonstrate reasonable standard of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Be physically fit and able to push and clamp wheelchairs.
  • Be able to observe service users and respond to their diverse needs.
  • Be able to think on your feet and deal with situations calmly and professionally.

Due to the nature of the work, you will be required to work a split shift, between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 am and 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. (Flexibility will be required).
