Would you like to be involved in delivering the UK's new high speed rail network through Warwickshire? Delivery of Phase 1 of HS2 between London and the West Midlands is well underway and Stratford and Warwick District Councils have secured funding from HS2 Ltd for a joint HS2 Project Officer to deliver the scheme across our two districts. The post will be for a two-year period with an option to extend for an additional year.

We are looking for a FTE Senior Planner to work within Stratford’s Implementation Team to deliver HS2 planning workstreams across both districts.  You will either already be a Senior Planner or an experienced planner who is ready to take the next step up and diversify your CV.  A keen interest in bringing forward a key major infrastructure project will be necessary as is an ability to engage proactively with HS2’s appointed contractors and key local stakeholders. We are looking for someone who can maintain performance to agreed standards whilst adding value to submissions, and good IT literacy is essential along with knowledge of Uniform.

You will be committed to good customer care and to working as part of a high achieving team.  Local performance levels have been well-maintained throughout Covid lockdowns and following an initial induction period significant home working is possible, or hybrid office working if preferred.  Previous appeal and Committee experience would be beneficial as is a suitable planning qualification and membership of the RTPI.

In addition to an open and friendly environment, you’ll enjoy an excellent benefits package including a minimum of 23 days’ annual leave flexi-time, BUPA Wellbeing CashPlan and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

An application form and job description can be accessed via the website, www.stratford.gov.uk, alternatively telephone the 24 hour answering service on (01789) 260711, or e-mail sitsvac@stratford-dc.gov.uk.  The minicom number for Elizabeth House is (01789) 260747.
