The Planning Applications Team is high performing despite a substantial and complex work load of applications of all types. In order to continue this performance, we are recruiting to this role which will manage the team tasked with delivering a range of significant new development sites allocated through Stratford-on-Avon District’s Core Strategy or emerging through the Site Allocations Plan and South Warwickshire Local Plan.

Some of our key sites include the Garden Village at Long Marston Airfield, new settlement at Gaydon Lighthorne Heath and Stratford-upon-Avon’s Canal Quarter Regeneration Area.  The team also deals with planning submissions from HS2.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and supervision to, and take line management responsibility for a team of Senior Planners.

You will be expected to show enthusiasm, drive and a proven ability to take a positive approach to development. You will also have extensive contact with District Councillors and Parish Councils.

You should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in planning or related discipline and be a full member of the RTPI. Several years’ experience in a development management setting is essential.
