Job Details

Just imagine, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for; to further your career and secure a promotion. We are deliberately tantalising you with this advert as we close this term, so that after you have digested all your festive food and are busy making your new year resolutions that you move forward with your resolution to apply.

What an opportunity to join our excellent Teacher and Learning team; a team in which you will thrive and excel. This opportunity is to lead Early Years as a teacher with a TLR and has arisen as I reposition some of my team due to a vacancy elsewhere in school.

We are looking for an experienced Early Years teacher who is deeply rooted in excellent Early Years practice. You will of course understand how to value pupil curiosity and be able to carefully craft learning episodes that follow individual interests, while at the same time building irresistibility into practice. You need to be able to model high quality interactions and skilfully play partner. Under your leadership you will be able to facilitate high quality learning experiences that consolidate, challenge and support children’s achievements and next steps.

Your TLR responsibly will be to lead Early Years curriculum; early years assessment and events. We are looking for someone to be the glue that binds our Nursery and Reception teams together. We do offer a 30 hour provision. We have launched Forest School this year to support pupil mental health and well-being; therefore, we are looking for an Early Years lead who really values outdoor learning.  Ideally you will have experience of urban Local Authorities such as Sandwell and an understanding of the range of diverse needs that affect school life. You will also understand the challenges that increasing number of pupils with complex needs, bring to Early Years.

We need you to be a highly effective teacher, with a passion for meeting the diverse needs of our pupils. You need to be a consummate professional. You will be adaptable and flexible. We are just what you need, in terms of further developing your teaching and leadership skills. We set great store by developing CPD opportunities through staff training; coaching and mentoring; and working with external providers. We have a distinct learning culture that makes things irresistible, in which we use many collaborative techniques that engage learners. We are very innovative; we work together on solving the problems each year brings. We have easy to use smart assessment systems for Early Years. We use Tapestry to link with our parent community. You will be extremely well inducted and supported as the current post holder remains in school but moves to their own new challenge and opportunity. We have already successfully implemented change linked to the new framework and you will now have the opportunity to further develop Early Years so that it can be an area of excellence with school.

Our aim with this advert is to attract a teacher who is really imaginative and innovative and who wants to build their career with a school that is forward thinking. With a TLR you become part of the wider middle leadership team always being the voice of early years and an advocate for their needs. We are rightfully proud of our safeguarding and our care of pupils is phenomenal.

We are all really proud of our school; we are value driven. We really do have the most fantastic pupils with excellent behaviour and attitude to learning.  All of our learning environments are really engaging, colourful and support independent learning. We value staff well-being and have a Temple Meadow staff reward policy.

You absolutely must visit us as you need a ‘walk and talk’ so that you know truly that we are the school for you. This is a shortlisting perquisite.

Applications should be submitted directly to the school office, either in person or via email to tm.admin@meadow.sandwell.sch.uk. Application packs can be downloaded from the Local Authority website, as well as the school website. Potential applicants are very welcome to contact the school on 01384 569021 for a discussion prior to application.
