Job Details

At Temple Meadow we have a fabulous opportunity for an LSP3. We are looking for a motivated, flexible, adaptable and caring individual with the capacity to work proactively and effectively within KS2.

The working hours will be 8.45-4.00 each day. This is a permanent post. We are a ‘Good’ school, as judged by Ofsted. You will join a teaching and support team with high aspirations regarding meeting learner needs.

It goes without saying that you need to be appropriately literate and numerate to support the curriculum needs of KS2 pupils. Your role will involve high quality support to learning and achievement for KS2 pupils. You will need to be adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the role on any typical busy Temple Meadow day.

This post will start as soon as we possibly can have you! You need to have an NVQ3 or equivalent and you must have prior experience of working in a school in a paid post capacity as a member of the Learning Support team (this post is not suitable for applicants with only work experience in school, neither is it suitable for teachers or secondary colleagues). LSP3 staff at Temple Meadow need to be highly professional, adaptable and child centred. This post requires experience of working in urban areas such as Sandwell within a primary school. Ideally you will have key training from your current setting that will benefit you in this role. You must be skilled at emotion coaching and have an understanding, of how to meet diverse learner needs including SEND. You will of course need to be calm, flexible, adaptable and professional in all your interactions with pupils.  You must absolutely love working with children helping them to develop their full potential and need to be reliable, responsible, hardworking and ever mindful of safeguarding issues.

We are incredibly proud of our school; we offer a vibrant and stimulating learning environment. We really do have the most fantastic pupils with excellent behaviour and attitude to learning. We have a Staff Rewards Policy as our staff team are highly valued. All Learning Support come under the wing of a phase leader and are part of their team. To work at Temple Meadow, you must have high aspirations; be a consummate professional, be able to work at our pace, and always to a very high standard. We will invest in your training and support you in developing your career. We are a school with deep rooted values and we look forward to welcoming the successful applicant into our value driven culture.

Application packs are available from and returnable to the school office. Application packs can also be downloaded from the Local Authority website. All completed applications must be returned either by post or delivered directly to the school office. Applicants are very welcome to visit the school; interested applicants can contact the school on 01384 569021 to arrange an appointment.

Please note part of our shortlisting process uses the application form to assess your literacy and presentation skills. Our recruitment process will involve a long and shortlisting process, so we get the opportunity of seeing you in class interacting and supporting learning. Our long list will be narrowed down to a short list for interview in the afternoon.

Temple Meadow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups including children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS clearance is therefore required for this role.
