Worcestershire Research and Intelligence Officer

Bromsgrove District Council
Grade 6 (SCP 19 – 24),  £25,481 - £28,672 per annum
Full-Time: 37 Hours
Location: Worcestershire
Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months

Ability to travel independently around the Worcestershire County.

The Role

Bromsgrove District Council has a fantastic opportunity for a well-qualified and enthusiastic person to join the Strategic Housing Team and support the work of the other Strategic Housing Teams across the six Worcestershire local authorities as a Research and Intelligence Officer.

This will be a varied role, where the successful candidate will work on research programmes using appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative techniques to inform decisions on the design and delivery of council services.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of providing meaningful forward-looking research and analysis to inform decision-making, which could include evaluation, forecasting, consultation, policy or market research. You should have experience of managing projects with multiple priorities and presenting results to senior managers and Councillors.

Proactive, independent and forward-thinking, it is essential that you can demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving, high level communication skills (both verbal and written) and that you are able to understand, interpret and convey complex findings to both operational and strategic audiences.

You must be able to work effectively with staff at a variety of levels, inside and outside the organisation. Your IT skills will be excellent, and you will be able to work in a structured way without supervision to meet deadlines. You will be highly motivated and keen to develop your own skills, knowledge and techniques as required.

We are able to offer some agile working, so that you can split your time between the office and home, but you will be required to travel across Worcestershire as and when needs arise. The role is based at Bromsgrove District Council, Parkside, Market Street, Bromsgrove B61 8DA.

Benefits

In return, you can look forward to:

• 23 days annual leave rising to 28 after five years local government service plus statutory holidays and one fixed day, agreed annually by management (usually Christmas)

• 37-hour working week, with flexible working, including remote working opportunities
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
