Do you have the passion and drive to support vulnerable young people reach their potential?

We currently have job opportunities for two Travel Trainers to join our dedicated team, both full time, one is offered on a permanent contract and the other on a 12-month fixed term basis. 

As a Travel Trainer you will play a vital part in enabling young people with special educational needs to become independent travellers on route to and from school. and will develop positive working relationships with families to promote the importance and benefits of independent travel. You will also have the opportunity to support people under the NEET criteria (Not in Education, Employment or Training).

You will have:

  • A degree or the ability to demonstrate through experience, the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties.
  • Experience working with adults, young people or children with special educational needs.
  • An understanding of the difficulties parents/carers face when supporting independent travel.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to travel across the Borough and work from a variety of locations, including early/late starts in order to support young people and adults in to education/employment.
