We are seeking to recruit a committed and highly motivated individual to support the Tenancy Sustainment team.
You will be responsible for a wide range of housing management services. The main duties include; increasing rent collection, preventing and pursuing rent arrears, recovering court costs, rechargeable repairs, verifications and assisting with Universal credit claims, financial inclusion, delivering the welfare reform initiatives, recommending write offs and supporting rent campaigns, as well as other tenant participation events. In addition to this, the role involves preparing and presenting cases in court.
You will work closely with an officer from the Tenancy Sustainment Housing Management team. Duties also include representing the Council at a range of multi-agency meetings at various levels, sign posting referrals, and other tenant participation events. You will work closely with internal departments and external agencies.
A detailed knowledge of housing, especially income management and welfare benefits, is essential. We are looking for an individual with a can do approach who will be able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team and who can communicate effectively with members of the Council, the general public and colleagues whilst working in a busy environment.
To apply for the position you must have a minimum of 12 months previous experience of housing or related field, or a recognised housing qualification.
