WME is looking for a dynamic service manager to lead our busy finance team

You will be joining WME at an exciting time as we embrace new ways of working. We are mixing homeworking with time spent in our modern collaboration hub in Willenhall, where we can come together as teams, as a whole organisation, or simply drop in to work within an office environment.  We are excited to be transforming how we work and deliver our services to our councils, who are also transforming how they work too.  

This is a new role within our finance team and the successful candidate will have a key role in helping us improve and transform our financial services.  This role will enable you to work with the extended management team across all our services, supporting business development and service improvement. 

This is a critical role in our small finance team, so it is essential that applicants have significant experience of working across all aspects of a financial accounting function, with hands on experience of financial accounting systems, and ideally already lead and manage others.  Knowledge of public sector finance and procurement is helpful but not essential and we welcome applicants from small or medium sized businesses, as we value the wider business knowledge and experience gained from this type of role.

This is new role in the team reporting to the Assistant Director for Finance & Governance and responsible for the line management of two Finance Assistants.

You will lead WME’s financial service function, having lead responsibility for the full range of accounting services. You will have a keen eye for detail, be highly self-motivated, with the ability to motivate and lead a small team to deliver high quality services to strict reporting deadlines and be committed to service innovation and improvement.

Assessment centre/interview:  Friday 28th January 2022, at our premises in Willenhall.

This will include an assessment centre, an informal chat with a staff panel, and a formal interview.
