About Us and The Role

The Warwickshire Children in Care Team work restoratively as a service, who are a dynamic group of qualified Social Workers who are made up of newly qualified as well as very experienced practitioners who have worked with this group of young people for many years.  We also have a Therapeutic Family Support Worker who supports young people with Mentoring and Life Story Work. The scope of the Team is ethnically broad, and promotes diversity within both it’s workforce and for the young people is supports.

The Role centres around safeguarding and advocating for young people and encouraging independence. You will be an organised practitioner who brings with them knowledge and skills to engage with young people of this age group, and be able to work to time scales, to meet statutory obligations; such as home visits to young people, ensuring the child has a current care plan, meet with the Independent Reviewing Officer to review these, along with the child to ensure the best interests of the child are met, and to multi-agency network with their foster carers and care providers, their educational provision, health service and Police where necessary.

You will need to be prepared to travel to meet with young people who may be in crisis and have the skills to sign post them to necessary agencies of support.

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
