With a rich and diverse culture, Sandwell Borough is home to award-winning parks and leisure centres, high-performing libraries, an iconic range of museums and heritage sites, playing fields and green open spaces – the ‘jewel’ in the crown being Sandwell Valley Country Park.

The Country Park is set in 1300 acres of countryside and provides a rural unique experience within an urban setting – from a working farm and visitor attraction to nature reserves, woodland, lakes, historical features and the hosting of major events/leisure activities.

As part of our place making and growth agenda, we have ambitious plans to strengthen Sandwell’s events programme both at Sandwell Valley and across the Borough, particularly during 2022 when the region hosts the Commonwealth Games.

We are looking for energetic and creative Events Co-ordinators – on a temporary basis – to support the management, co-ordination and promotion/consultation around these events for the build-up, during and post-breakdown/briefing.

The successful candidates will require excellent communications skills and a high level of attention to detail. You will be a motivated self-starter, with the ability to work on several complex tasks simultaneously whilst remaining calm under pressure. Comfortable with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, you will enjoy working autonomously and as part of a team.

Requirements:

Relevant degree to suit environment or higher education and/or proven experience in events/hospitality management for over 2 years – with relevant training

Closing date:

No later than 10:00am on 18th January 2022.
