Are you a qualified Retrofit Co-ordinator? Want to have a regional impact on delivering energy efficiencies to local residents?

As Retrofit Co-ordinator you’ll visit people’s homes and work with contractors and designers to ensure energy efficiencies are delivered how they should be.

You’ll be the direct contact between residents and our project teams and will supervise retrofit co-ordination and assessment of domestic dwellings under multiple concurrent PAS 2035 projects.

A key part of delivering the programme is ensuring the quality of installations, good outcomes for residents and embedding a continuous improvement cycle for all your programmes.

This is a fixed term role for up to 18 months

The Strategy and Economy directorate brings stakeholders in the region together around shared strategic ambitions to ensure that we are always more than the sum of our parts. The Directorate develops and supports the WMCA Corporate Strategy, and develops policy and programmes focussed on economic development, devolution, culture, digital, and other areas where the WMCA has an enabling and influencing role. The Directorate engages with Government, think tanks, universities, and others to make sure our voice is heard, and supports new and emerging policy thinking. The Directorate also hosts the Office for Data Analytics and Energy Capital, a regional public-private partnership.

What will you be doing?

  • Be a key member of the Energy Capital led SMART Hub retrofit team and resource to support the delivery of retrofit solutions across the region
  • Prepare and/or commission PAS2035 compliant surveys and documentation including risk assessments and medium-term plans for domestic dwellings, effectively capturing all required information
  • Monitor, evaluate and administer projects, conducting regular review meetings and events as prescribed in grant award documentation to meet needs of each consortium and funding bodies
  • Liaise with retrofit professionals including Co-ordinators, Assessors, Advisors, Designers, and Installers, and residents as necessary
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the WMCA, partners and funders to resolve issues and identify system/process improvements
  • Visit sites to review projects and advise installers on a regular basis

About you

It is essential that you are a qualified Retrofit Co-ordinator with a Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management.

You’ll be comfortable talking to people and be able to explain the benefits of retrofit programmes to residents and key stakeholders.

A DBS check is a vetting requirement for any successful post-holder, and this will need to be achieved as a condition of employment.  Travel to sites is a fundamental part of your role, you’ll need a full driving licence or be able to travel to sites.

Essential skill and experience

  • Able to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects in the domestic energy efficiency retrofit market to agreed SLAs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced team
  • Able to make decisions effectively, using either own knowledge or available data
  • Good analytical and presentation skills – written and verbal – and fluency in use of MSOffice office suite including Project (or equivalent)
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to confidently persuade and inform key senior stakeholders and residents
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
  • Full driving licence or evidence of ability to travel to site.
