The Council's Grounds Maintenance Team look after the parks and green spaces across the Borough.

Hours:  37 hours per week, 5 days over 7 days, including Saturdays and Sundays on a rota.  Weekend working is paid at enhanced hours.

Salary:  Grade 5

The Team are looking to recruit a Horticulturist (bins) to empty litter and dog waste bins and remove litter from identified sites across the Borough.  The role also involves the inspection of play, multi-sport and exterior gym equipment and minor maintenance and repairs when required, as well as general horticultural duties.

The successful candidates will hold a driving licence enabling them to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (Category B or higher).  You will hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Amenity horticulture, an ROSPA Play Area Inspection certificate and an NPTC PA1 PA6a Use of Pesticides - or be willing to work towards these qualifications.  You must also be physically fit, able to walk long distances and prepared to work in all weathers.
