The role: 

As a Highway Authority, Worcestershire County Council (WCC) has responsibility for co-ordinating all works on the highway network of Worcestershire. Both WCC and undertakers are required to give notice to each other of their intended works. This process is aimed at assessing the impact on any works to minimise disruption to traffic networks and any foreseeable inconvenience which could be caused to street/road users.

WCC carries out these duties under the New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA) / Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004 taking action to ensure compliance by all works promoters
All works promoters are required to apply for a permit from the highway authority and WCC issues these through the joint permit scheme West and Shires Permit scheme (WaSP)

Our Street Works team are looking for a dynamic individual that is a good team player with good communication skills to fill the role of the Streetworks Site Negotiator. The Site Negotiator will carry out inspections on live works on the highway , issuing high and low risk defects where required and  will also work closely with our Enforcement team on site occupancy and our Permitting team with the upfront assessment of traffic management proposals from utilities and private undertakers. 

Experience working in a similar fast-paced environment and a good working knowledge of Mayrise would be an advantage also have a sound understanding of current Street Works Registers and the use of handheld inspection devices would be beneficial. the County's co-ordination & Network Management duty on the Worcestershire highway by assessing and processing Permits,
