Senior Solicitor (Team Leader)

About Us

Do you want to help lead an award-winning child protection legal service?

Do you want to work with people who care about getting the best outcomes for children?

Can you thrive under pressure, whilst retaining compassion and a sense of balance?

Do you want to feel proud of what you and your team achieve?

If you do, Warwickshire’s Children & Families’ Legal Service needs you.

A long-serving and well-loved senior member of our team has left for pastures new, and we are looking to replace them with a talented, dedicated and experienced lawyer to help shape the service into 2022 and beyond.

About the Role

The post-holder will lead our pre-proceedings and private law team.  This is a management position and the team’s work provides the foundation for everything that we do.  The post-holder will be a member of the Children and Families Legal Service management team.

We also have a Senior Solicitor (Technical expert – Advocacy) vacancy.  This post-holder will be a member of the strategy and leadership team and contribute to the strategic direction of the team.  The role involves single and multi-day advocacy as well as mentoring and coaching of staff. This is an ideal position for someone who thrives on court work but also wants to take a first step into leadership.  Anyone applying for one role may ask to be considered for both and will need to evidence the essential criteria for both posts on the application form.

We are seeking qualified solicitors or barristers with a good understanding of public law relating to children and families and significant experience in the field.  You will have a strong commitment to client care and be a reliable colleague who will fit into our friendly and supportive team.

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
