Salary G2 £9.43 per hour

We require hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic and motivated cleaners to join our casual cleaners’ pool.

Casual Cleaners are required to cover premises across the Walsall Borough to ensure the required standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained within our schools and outlying buildings. In return, we offer excellent pay, uniforms and access to training.

You do not have to be available 5 days per week as a Casual Cleaner but it is helpful to specify the days you are available.

You will be required to undertake cleaning duties including mopping, polishing and vacuuming and previous experience in this type of work is required. The successful candidate must also have an understanding of the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery.

If you are available to work early morning between the hours of 6.00 a.m. - 8.00 a.m. or afternoons from 3.00 p.m. onwards, we would like to hear from you.  Casual cleaning work is always available in Schools, Libraries, Council Offices and Community Centres, etc. in the following areas:

Bloxwich / Brownhills

Caldmore / Chuckery

Darlaston / Delves

Pleck / Palfrey / Pelsall

Walsall Town Centre / Walsall Wood / Willenhall

Please note: The casual cleaner position is of a non-contractual basis and work will be allocated on an “as and when” needed basis to cover annual leave, sick leave and holiday deep cleaning. Therefore, hours are not guaranteed. Should a permanent position arise, successful applicants for this post will be considered.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
