The Role
25.0 Hours per Week
Kingsbury Primary School is a happy, village school for children aged 4-11years. All children are encouraged to be independent, kind and confident learners. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN this would mostly be in a 1:1 situation with children with specific needs.
Key Requirements
Candidates should :
•Have a calm and patient manner
•Have a flexible approach to working
•Have GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
•Work well within a team
•Display initiative and ability to work independently
•Be enthusiastic and dynamic
•Be reliable with a sense of commitment
•Ability to adapt activities to engage an interest
•Use praise, commentary and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay on task
•Be confident in liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, pupils, parents and other professionals about individual Learning plans, contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
•Help to make appropriate resources to support the pupil
•Establish supportive relationships with the pupil concerned and their parents
•Promote the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN, encouraging pupils to interact with each other in an appropriate and acceptable manner
•Support the pupil in developing social skills both in and out of the classroom
•Provide regular feedback on the pupil’s learning to the teacher, parents and SENCO
