School Led Tutor Programme Teaching Assistant  

Hours 25 hours per week, Fixed Term, Term-time only + Training Days

Start date: As soon as possible afterwards

End date: 31st August 2022

We are looking for an enthusiastic, high quality, experienced and committed Teaching Assistant who has a genuine desire that the children in their care flourish both academically and personally. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and develop the School Led Tutoring Programme within the Academy. They will be able to teach high quality sessions across the Primary range, so should have strong literacy and numeracy skills, experience of working with children in an education setting and flexibility to meet the needs of all children on the programme.

You will have:

  • Advanced skills and curriculum knowledge to prepare high quality teaching sessions.
  • Good understanding of working in a nurturing environment.
  • Ability to engage pupils and maintain interests and motivation.
  • Experience of working across the curriculum and ability to raise levels of achievement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being responsible for the management and development of the School Led Tutoring Programme within the Academy.
  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of agreed learning activities. 
  • Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups/classes as well as monitoring and assessing, recording and reporting pupil achievement, progress and development. 
  • Assisting pupils in the acquisition of basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • To assist pupils in making progress across all subject areas.
  • Motivate and encourage pupils to behave well in and around the Academy. 
  • Promote and reinforce pupil self-esteem through praise and encouragement.
  • Have access to and contribute towards planning, teaching and learning activities.
  • Record pupil progress to inform future planning for coverage of the national curriculum.
  • Assist the teacher in evaluation of work undertaken and help plan future progress for identified pupils.
