Senior Infrastructure Specialist, Ref; RT15221
Salary G9 £33,782 - £38,890 per annum
This is a unique opportunity to apply for this exciting and important role, supporting the design and development of all Data Centre infrastructure management systems within Walsall Council.
You will design, plan, manage and facilitate the installation, integration, testing and maintenance of ICT Data Centre infrastructure management systems ensuring all quality, asset management and configuration management processes are followed.
An important aspect of this role is the ability to liaise with managers, service delivery teams and the service desk to ensure that all changes are communicated and understood by colleagues and staff.
Knowledge in such technology areas as Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange & O365 are preferred as well as wider experience in Microsoft Windows server platforms.
To be considered you will be qualified by experience within an ICT Data Centre infrastructure environment and have attained or possess equivalent professional experience to Microsoft Certified system engineer and ITIL foundation certificate standard.
You will also have a relevant degree and significant / extensive experience within an ICT Data Centre infrastructure and workstation systems environment. ICT systems are located at a number of sites, therefore candidates will need to possess a valid UK driving license and may be required to travel and work at these locations as part of their duties.
Under the current covid pandemic, there is a requirement to work from home, therefore, suitable facilities for working from home are necessary for this role. You should have access to personal broadband that is appropriate to enable you to work from home and you should also have a suitable work area.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
