About Futures Matters
Futures Matters works in partnership with families and partner agencies to affect change and achieve positive outcomes by working with some of the most vulnerable children and families living in Staffordshire. In Futures Matters we support children who are on the edge of care to remain living at home, and we support young people to return home following a period being cared for by us. The underpinning methodology is solution focussed drawing upon relationship and strength-based models of intervention targeted to meet the specific needs of the family.
The Intensive Support Workers are responsible for supporting young people (8-18 years of age) and their parents to develop a tailored package of support, drawing upon other resources within the team as appropriate to remain or return home to their family.
The team will work in line with Staffordshire’s Families First early intervention principles and processes and work will be undertaken in partnership with Social Work teams, Early Help Teams and other professionals including the 3rd Sector. The team is based in Stafford but works across the county.
It is important that applicants have significant experience of working with children / young people and their families within the community delivering a variety of interventions/direct work to address the presenting issues.
There is an expectation that this post will include evening and weekend work where two additional increments will be paid.
Futures Matters have a range of specialist skills (e.g. NVR, CBT, Solution Focussed and more) including Exploitation Coordinators and a Young Persons Substance Misuse Worker. This means we can engage the right support and external services, in a tailored way, to suit the needs of each young person and their family.
The current Job description is currently being reviewed, the principles, the approaches, and the services that the team offer are unlikely to change.

have a level 3 NVQ Childcare qualification,
understanding of child development, the impact of trauma, parental and community issues can have of children and families,
experience of supporting children and their families in the community, delivering direct work,
