Ridgeway Primary School is seeking to appoint an Early Years Practitioner/ Nursery Nurse to work within our Sunny Days Nursery at Ridgeway Primary School to provide full day care for babies and children under 5 years.

The post will be for 22.5 hours up to 37 hours working on a whole year basis (with a holiday entitlement of 24 days). This is a maternity cover and will initially be for 9 months but has the potential to be extended further;

Sunny Days Nursery provides full day care provision for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years across a whole year.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme;
  • Annual holiday entitlement of 24 days (pro-rata);
  • Discounted childcare (if they use the setting for childcare);
  • Opportunities for further training as required;
  • Opportunities to work across all rooms (ages) within the setting;

Candidates should:

  • Hold a minimum of NVQ L2 or L3 Qualification or equivalent;
  • A thorough understanding of the welfare requirements of the EYFS;
  • Recent experience of working with children in a EYFS setting either in a paid employment or through placements;
  • The ability to work as part of a team;
  • Good level of English and Maths;

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions.
