Job Details
The Starting Well partnership brings together Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, Barnardo’s, Action for Children, and Redditch Borough Council and aims to deliver a new countywide model which reflects a change in how we support local children, young people and families in our county. We look to improve access to early help and support, will empower local communities, and will help make Worcestershire a great place to grow up, to learn, develop and maximise potential.
Additional funding will allow the Starting Well service to pilot and evaluate the provision of additional supported parenting groups for targeted families in partnership with Worcestershire Children’s First. The following posts will provide an excellent and exciting opportunity to join a team in developing services that will make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and their families.

The post holder for the Parent Support Worker roles will deliver evidenced based Community Parenting Programmes such as Understanding Your Child, providing positive parenting support services and groups offering parenting advice and support including home visits, drop-in facilities, and group sessions, with a focus on supporting vulnerable families.
They will work assertively with families and by working in a child and young person-centred approach, actively seek to empower families to gain and maintain control over all aspects of their lives. The post holder needs significant experience of facilitation and delivery of evidence based parenting programmes and young people’s groups and experience of working with families, including children and young people and creatively engaging parents and families into services. You will need a NVQ 3 in health, social care, childcare or youth work and undergone training in delivering evidence based Parenting Programmes.
