Job Details
The Starting Well partnership brings together Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, Barnardo’s, Action for Children, and Redditch Borough Council and aims to deliver a new countywide model which reflects a change in how we support local children, young people, and families in our county. We look to improve access to early help and support, will empower local communities, and will help make Worcestershire a great place to grow up, to learn, develop and maximise potential.
Additional investment has been made to support expectant and new mothers and their families within their own communities by recruiting, training, and supporting a network of volunteer peer supporters to work alongside community health connectors. There will be a focus on supporting families from conception to age 2. The following posts will provide an excellent and exciting opportunity to join a team in developing services that will make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and their families.
Peer Support & Volunteer Co-Ordinator – x1 30 hour post, Grade 5, £23,080 - £25,481 pro rata per annum
Fixed Term until 31/03/2024
The post holder for the co-ordinator role will be responsible for co-ordinating the recruitment, training and supervision of Peer Supporters and Volunteers and they will be responsible for managing and evaluating the service. You would work closely with the Public Health Nurse Team Leader in developing training and supervision packages for the Peer Supporters. The post holder needs significant experience of working with families and volunteers. You will need a NVQ 3 or equivalent in Youth and community work or Early Years and Childcare, Education or Children’s Services.
