About Us and the Role

As a Senior Business Support Officer, you will play an essential part in developing Business Support into a high performing function that is valued by stakeholders, where staff know what good performance looks like and have the opportunity to develop their careers.

With a focus on implementing the business support operating model effectively, using our operational insight to deliver continuous improvement across the many activities delivered by Business Support, for the benefit of our Stakeholders and customers. Technology will play an important part in how we do things, as we work to help deliver the organisation's digital transformation ambitions. And remembering that we cannot do anything without our staff, working with colleagues across Business Support to foster a culture that reflects Warwickshire's behaviours and values.

To be successful in the role you will need to be able to build strong working relationships ensuring staff and stakeholders feel supported and understood. Working alongside the Team Lead, you will need to be able to manage risks and prioritise work to ensure you and the team deliver the right activities in the most efficient way possible. We are looking for a flexible, hardworking individual who is able and willing to challenge the status quo, and who can work with the teams around them to find effective solutions to operational issues.

At Warwickshire County Council we put children and families at the heart of everything we do and work together to improve their quality of life and ensure they receive early support when they need it. A key part of this, is the business support team working with fostering team’s county wide, including the fostering hub; private fostering and connected persons fostering; as well as foster carer recruitment and training.  This Senior Business Support Officer role supports these teams within Children and Families and therefore in addition to a sound understanding of administration practices, an understanding of fostering would be an advantage.
