Job Title: Solicitor/ Barrister - Adult Social Services
Salary: £30,492 - £40,506
Permanent - Full Time, 35 hours per week
Location: Worcester

The role:

We are a busy, friendly, well-supported legal team serving Worcestershire County Council in a beautiful and conveniently situated location in Worcester.  We provide a high quality, well regarded service to our users, and now need to recruit a permanent solicitor or barrister to join our Adults, Education and Debt Recovery Team.

The position is for a full-time Adult Social Care solicitor or barrister.  The work will cover a wide and varied caseload of adult social care law to include judicial review, ordinary residence disputes, advising on mental capacity including DOLS/LPS, mental health and the Care Act 2014. In addition, experience of education law and SEND would be advantageous although not essential, as the primary focus will be on adult social care work. You will be responsible for advising on all aspects of Adult Social Services law to include representing the Council in the Court of Protection and County Court. A flair for advocacy is therefore desirable.

We are looking for a solicitor or barrister, with relevant experience in local government. However, the job will also be suitable for a newly qualified or soon to be qualified solicitor or barrister.

We are all currently working from home remotely due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but as our buildings open-up, you will be required to work in the office for part of the time each week, as well as attend court or other meetings or forum in person on occasion as and when required.

Informal enquiries:
