An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Partnership Business Unit for a Partnership  Support Officer. The Team supports Herefordshire 3 Partnership Boards to work together collaboratively to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults who live in Herefordshire.

The aim of Herefordshire Partnership Business Unit is to support our safeguarding partners in ensuring that children, young people and vulnerable adults in Herefordshire are being kept safe.

About the team

As a member of the Business Unit you will be part of a small team working to the Partnership Manager but will work regularly work with a much wider group of professionals from across the partnership spectrum, including the Local Authority, health providers, Police and schools. All will share the common goal of making our safeguarding arrangements as efficient and effective as possible.

What will your role be?

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and effective clerical and administrative support to the Herefordshire Safeguarding Partnership and its sub-groups as required including minute taking of nominated partnership meetings as agreed.

You will work on behalf of the partnership and Partnership Manager with a broad range of individual and organisational contacts involved with safeguarding from across the public, private, voluntary and independent sectors.  This will include contact with elected members, chief officers and heads of service, and is this vital to support the statutory functions of the Partnership in line with the requirements of the different Partnership Boards Statutory duties. 

The post holder will focus on maintaining processes to support the work of the partnership, in particular in support of carrying out Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, produce and disseminate information promoting the safeguarding partnership and its work within partner agencies, the wider professional community and to the public (including developing and maintaining the partnership’s website). You will also contribute to the development of structure charts, terms of reference, information on roles and responsibilities etc. for the Safeguarding Partnership and its sub and working groups, and to support multi-agency audit processes through the arrangement of meetings, distribution and collection of information and taking of minutes.

About You 

We are looking for a dynamic and confident individual who is self-motivated, has experience of working in a multi-agency environment and has a good understanding of the safeguarding arena.

You must have a relevant professional qualification or comparable professional experience.
