Job Details

We are proud of the Borough’s diverse communities, our vibrant charity and not for profit sector, our environmental assets and our businesses.  We are also proud of the first-class services which we deliver to the residents of the Borough.

As we respond to, and recover from the Covid 19 pandemic, the council will work with our communities and partners to deliver the following four key outcomes:

  • Rugby is an environmentally sustainable place, where we work together to reduce and mitigate the effects of climate change
  • Rugby has a diverse and resilient economy that benefits all residents
  • Residents live healthy, independent lives, with the most vulnerable protected
  • Rugby Borough Council is a responsible, effective and efficient organisation

We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our Senior Management Team, to navigate the many challenges ahead of us and to lead some of our key services in delivering what’s right for Rugby.

Specifically, we are looking for a driven leader to take forward our operational and traded services, and to maximise the commercial and traded opportunities which they present.

Our Chief Officer of Operations and Traded Services will have responsibility for the following services:

  • Waste and Transport
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Street Scene
  • Property Repairs

You will need to ensure that the services meet customer need, represent value for money and are legislatively compliant.  As a priority you will identify and implement new models of delivery, taking full advantage of traded / commercial opportunities and delivering financial efficiency.  You will bring strong leadership to challenge the status quo, bring about innovation and support teams, often through times of change, whilst retaining a sharp customer focus.

If you are passionate about these services and committed to delivering excellent customer service, then we would love to hear from you.
