It is an exciting time on our improvement journey and we are looking for people with a real passion and enthusiasm to join the newly created Inclusion Service and support our Children and Young People to access the education they deserve.

Inclusion Service

Our Inclusion Service will provide support and challenge wherever it is needed to ensure that all children and young people in Solihull have access to inclusive and appropriate education so they can achieve positive outcomes - enabling them to lead successful adult lives.

This will be achieved through a fully integrated inclusion service for children, which will provide advice, guidance and support for children and their families where accessing appropriate education is challenging.

We will provide, challenge and support education settings to develop inclusive practice and confidently support children and young people with additional needs – taking early action to address emerging issues and meeting statutory duties for attendance, children missing education, exclusion and home education.

As Outcomes Coordinator you will:

    • Champion children’s rights to appropriate education and co-ordinate input from a range of professionals to facilitate this
    • Empower and support staff within education settings to develop inclusive practice and environments – sharing best practice
  • Support education professionals undertaking the lead professional role to build knowledge, capacity and confidence
  • Monitor outcomes for children who are more likely to be vulnerable and use to target support and intervention in education settings effectively

You will have:

  • A Degree level qualification (or equivalent) or have the ability to demonstrate through relevant experience an equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Experience of working with children, young people and their families
  • Experience of providing guidance, advice and challenge to other professionals
  • Experience of supporting children/young people with additional needs – including assessment, planning and review of support

This is a hugely rewarding role which will help in shaping the future of Inclusion services in Solihull.

These roles are currently based in our collaborative open plan office space with options of working from home. The office base is currently Elmwood Place, but expected to be is based in Central Solihull in the future, within walking distance of our shops and local amenities.
