Job Purpose: 

As a Multi-Academy, we are heavily invested in the strategic development of IT infrastructure and in ensuring that systems and structures are fully utilised to enhance the education of students within our schools.

As the IT Services Manager, you will provide professional leadership to a team of IT technicians and have a passion for technology. Utilising your extensive IT experience, you will ideally have experience of undertaking and managing deployments of technology.

This is a varied IT role, working in a rewarding environment that requires the building of strong relationships with colleagues inside and outside of the organisations. If you are a person with excellent technical and problem-solving skills, have initiative, are a great communicator with a proactive attitude and ultimately get a real buzz out of going the extra mile to support people, then you will be well suited to this role.

Key responsibilities:
Strategy and Development:

* Develop and implement Multi-Academy IT policies that support teaching and learning strategies in school.
* Promote innovation in IT, by keeping up to date with the most recent technologies and advising how new solutions can support the teaching and learning needs of schools across the Multi-Academy.
* Develop standard operating procedures and ensure that guidelines are provided for staff and all end-users.
* Support individual schools in the development of their IT plans, that support and enhance teaching and learning.

Leadership and Management:

* Line manage the IT Hub Leads and support them in carrying out their individual responsibilities.
* Create and implement plans to develop the IT Team, ensuring that succession plans are in place and the needs of a growing Multi-Academy are taken into consideration.
* Facilitate flexibility within the IT Team, enabling people to work collaboratively and to support wider Academy projects.
* Be responsible for own workload and professional development.
* Develop and implement a Quality Assurance system across the Multi-Academy, ensuring that new technologies are embedded, and old systems are retired.
* To actively inform and report on service levels, planned service outages or service level disruptions, ensuring that serious concerns are escalated.
* Lead on the procurement, commissioning and configuration of IT systems, networks and equipment, including hardware and software across the Multi-Academy.
* Manage any out-sourced IT contracts to ensure value for money.

IT Estate:

* Responsible for ensuring that all IT systems within the estate are reliable, consistent and fit for purpose.
* Ensure that interruptions to the availability of the IT environment as a result of incidents or planned maintenance are minimised through a proactive and comprehensive focus on prevention rather than cure.
* Responsible for ensuring that robust system and data back up procedures are in place across the Multi-Academy and are tested regularly through the Quality Assurance process.
* Ensure that all systems adhere to GDPR principles.
* Maintain an accurate and up-to-date hardware asset register which can be used by Executive Team to inform annual budget.
* Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures relating to IT, especially around safety and safeguarding.
* Responsibility for the technical management of the Multi-Academy websites.

Support and Training:

* Build close working relationships with senior leaders across the Multi-Academy and facilitate regular IT surveys to enable appropriate training and support to be put in place.
* Be the Multi-Academy Champion and Expert in relation to new developments in IT and surrounding legislation.
* Lead on organising and facilitating training across the Multi-Academy, ensuring that feedback from schools and other end users is taken into consideration.
* Champion cloud-based solutions and create effective training plans to increase usability.

General

* To uphold the Catholic ethos of the Multi-Academy.
* To uphold and actively support the Multi-Academy policies and procedures.
* Ensure confidentiality is always maintained.
* Comply with all statutory policies and procedures regarding child protection and safeguarding.
