Nuneaton and Bedworth are building a brand-new team to deliver a private sector housing services across Nuneaton and Bedworth and North Warwickshire that residents can rely on to keep them safe in their homes. This is a busy service with a wide range of responsibilities, including disrepair, HMO inspections and licensing, illegal evictions, and mobile homes licensing so you must be able to prioritise your work effectively. 

 

Private Sector Housing Manager up to £47,863 Per annum (including reviewable Market supplement)
The Private Sector Housing Manager provides policy leadership and direction on all private sector housing issues for the Borough and so makes a measurable positive impact to the health and wellbeing of our residents. 


To be successfully shortlisted for the position, you must have Degree or Diploma in Management studies or equivalent and/or EHORB registration / Registered as an Environmental Health Practitioner by the CIEH (or an equivalent relevant qualification or professional registration at Level 7 on the National Educational Framework)

You will need to demonstrate that you have significant knowledge of private sector housing and renewal issues and the ability to develop and implement comprehensive improvement strategies. 

You will need to ensure a comprehensive Private Sector Housing shared service is delivered so you will need an expert understanding of the relevant housing legislation and a proven track record of managing professional and technical officers. 

Senior EHO/Standards Officer £37,890 to £38,890 Per annum
To do this job you need to have significant experience in housing standards enforcement and of taking formal action against non-compliant landlords. You will know the legislation inside out and be confident in advising officers in complex cases and managing their performance to maintain the high standards expected from us.  

You must have either a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or an equivalent professional qualification.  You must also be HHSRS qualified and able to identify defects and recommend remedies in a wide range of domestic dwellings, including HMOs, to ensure health and safety hazards are dealt with.
